Dear Parents and Wrestlers:

We are now beginning the sign-up process for the 2006 USA Wrestling Club. We will have sign-ups in the Branson High School cafeteria, immediately following the Varsity dual against Monett, on Thursday, December 1, at 6:00 p.m. The club has been increasing in success over the past several years. Last season, we had over 50 wrestlers sign up for the club, and we finished the season with thirteen state qualifiers and two state placers.

This letter is to invite you to participate in the 2006 USA wrestling season. In order to participate, please be advised of the following requirements:

Each wrestler must pay a club entry fee and obtain a USA wresting card. The cost is $50.00 and must be submitted along with the required forms.
Each wrestler must provide a copy of their birth certificate. If you provided a copy to the club last year, it should still be on file.
Each wrestler must read, agree to the terms, and sign a Waiver/Release Form.
Each wrestler must complete and submit a Branson USA Wrestling Club Application form.
Each wrestler must complete an option form, either purchasing a club singlet for competition, or providing his/her own singlet.

The first USA Tournament is to be held Saturday, January 7, at Ozark High School. If you plan to wrestle in that tournament, you must let one of the coaches know immediately. Only wrestlers with previous tournament experience are advised to enter this tournament. All wrestlers will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the tournament. In addition, you must provide all the necessary documentation, including the $50.00 club entry fee along with a $10.00 entry fee to coach Stephens, at sign-ups. Additional information on the Ozark tournament is available upon request.

Beginning in January, we will be practicing two times a week, with wrestling tournaments every Saturday. The first two practices are scheduled for Monday, December 26, and Thursday, December 29, with the first tournament in Ozark on January 7. A complete and final tournament schedule will be provided to each wrestler in January.

All first year wrestlers and all wrestlers 10 and under will begin practice at 6:00 p.m. on Monday and Thursday nights and must be picked up PROMPTLY at 7:00 p.m., so that the second practice does not have to delay. Experienced wrestlers 11 and older will begin practice at 7:00 p.m. and will be ready to be picked up no later than 8:30 p.m.

All practices will be held in the wrestling/weight room in the athletic building, next to John Chase Football Stadium. ONLY WRESTLERS AND COACHES WITH CLUB AUTHORIZED USA CARDS will be allowed in the wrestling room. The outside doors to the lobby area will be open fifteen minutes before the end of each practice, so that parents can wait in the lobby to pick up wrestlers.

Please read them carefully and return them to coach Stephens ASAP along with a check to cover the $50.00 USA Membership Club/Card Fee, and the Ozark Tournament entry fee ($10.00). Only experienced Junior High wrestlers will be wrestling at Ozark. If you have a question as to whether your child can wrestle the first tournament, check with one of the coaches at sign-ups.

We will be having a parent/wrestler/coach meeting in January. You will receive notification of the time and date.
